| One thing I didn't mention in my previous post was that the little word intuitive opened up a whole new direction for my life. When being interviewed for a newspaper article, the gentleman thought he was going to be reviewing a cookbook or a book telling housewives how to survive a day. He was dreading reading it. When he saw the word intuitive on the back he got really interested in my book. From there his influence opened up the door for me to work on missing persons' cases. All from that real small blurb of me on the back. One never knows, does one? |

| That's some powerful thinking Sue, and with my novel and my up and coming self help book I have thought a lot about the cover text. What's interesting me here is that I have contributions to several anthologies coming out and I really don't have any influence on what goes on to the back cover. I'll have to make sure that the info that goes into the press releases and so on carries the punch that I need. Oh, much more work to do yet, isn't there?! |

| On the back of my book, Life is Like Making Chocolate Chip Cookies, I have a small picture of myself along with a short blurb-bio. In the bio it mentions, just mentions mind you, that I am an intuitive consultant. When people look at that they start to ask questions about what I do, if it pertains to what I have in the book, and if I can apply it in the presentation. This alone opens up another whole presentation within the book signing. I can go in several directions and in fact, I usually do.
My last book signing I finally had to call it quits after 3-1/2 hours. The good part is they are having me back again the end of August. The people who were at the first one told their friends who want to hear me speak and purchase the book. I did two consults that came directly from that book signing as well.
So it pays to put something on the back of your book that can be used in your book signings or dealings with people to get them involved in the direction you want to go.
Hope this is the type of thing you wanted for this forum, Pam. |
